Randy Lewis - I Am Lake Worth

Hello Art friends

In case any of you have forgotten because of all of the painting and digital painting I have been posting I am first and foremost a photographer.  I started the I AM LAKE WORTH photo project a year ago.  I original goal was to show off the people who live, work and play in our funky little seaside town.  I am capturing people from all walks of life.  All you need to do is spend a few minutes having your picture taken and write a few words about why Lake Worth is special to you.  I thought it would be a great way for me to break the ice here in Lake Worth and to meet people.  One of the benefits of doing a project like this is that I have gotten to see and meet the people that make this place so special.  Today's subject is one of those everyday heroes in Lake Worth.  Meet Randy Lewis.  Every Wednesday he feeds the homeless in Bryant Park.  What humbly started with six peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches now feeds 100+ people.  (Editorial Note: Randy almost passed on I AM LAKE WORTH,  but decided if I could get more exposure for his project he would suffer through having his picture taken).  He calls his group the lunch bunch or the burrito project.  He does not not want any fame or glory he just wants to help the homeless with whatever they need whether it is lunch or a sweater for the cold weather.  Randy is just one of the amazing people I have met in the course of this project.

I am quite honestly humbled to have found such a great caring community here and I am proud to be Lake Worth.

The I Am LAKE WORTH show will be up at Hatch 1121 in July of 2018.  I will keep everyone posted as the time gets nearer.
