This peaceful shot of a cypress swamp in Riverbend Park will be raffled off at the opening of IAMLAKEWORTH
We are just days away from the opening of IAMLAKEWORTH on Friday! and somebody threw a national holiday smack dab in the middle of the week. It is not one of those holidays that quietly sneaks by. In Lake Worth there is a neighborhood raft race and a parade! Lake Worth just loves a parade and will have one for just about any reason. That said, I love it and really get into the spirit of it. I have not been at the week of pre-race parties at all the establishments around town this year, but have helped our mad scientist / engineer neighbor, Tim test the boat and decorate it. I will make time for the fun, but also plan to spend a chunk of time hanging the show on Wednesday. I guess today's lesson if there is one is take time to smell the roses and enjoy your family and friends. That might not be a perfect analogy as hanging the show and July 4th celebrations are both great fun to me!
Just a reminder the show opens Friday from 6-8:30pm at Hatch1121 (1121 Lucerne Ave) in Lake Worth. I think this exhibit of photos of some of the great folks around Lake Worth is reason enough to come to the opening, but if you need a bit more incentive here you go. We will have music by the Jazz on J Street trio from 7-8pm, Mathews Brewing is donating a keg of their L-Dub tropical ale and We will be doing a free raffle of one of my framed Everglades photos during the evening. So come out and join us for what promised to be a great time. We are showing the world great things continue to happen in Lake worth even after season is over.
